Dorset Hotel

The Dorset Hotel, is one of Derby’s most convenient accommodation options. Comfortable beds with shared bathroom facilities, two private ensuite rooms, great food, secure bike storage with cleaning and servicing facilities, and a fun friendly atmosphere featuring some of Tassie’s best craft beers, wines and spirits.

Built in 1911, we have just finished an extensive refurbishment of our upstairs rooms. New shared bathrooms, beds, linen, carpet and paint, have transformed The Dorset to her former glory.

If you’re lucky enough to stay with us, please keep in mind that we offer a lively, authentic pub experience and at times this can mean it’s a tad noisy for the light sleepers amongst us. We will generally close up around 11pm.

The River Trail, which starts from our Beer Garden, takes you along the banks of the Ringarooma river, providing direct access to the suspension bridge (which takes you across the river to the Lake Trail and Wochya-Upta), past the Pump track and on to the Blue Derby Trailhead. At the end of your day, all you have to do is roll down to the pub, rack your bike, enjoy a few bevies in the beer garden while dinner cooks, tell a few lies, then roll up to bed. EAT. RIDE. SLEEP. REPEAT.

We would love to make your visit to BlueDerby one of the best experiences available in mountain biking.
